Matt Hamel proudly serves as Chesapeake’s Commonwealth’s Attorney and brings integrity, experience, and a deep commitment to public safety to the job.  An Iraq veteran and Reserve Navy JAG officer, former Chesapeake councilman and lifelong advocate for justice, Matt has spent his career fighting for victims, standing up for the rule of law, and making our community stronger.
